Bunkhouses, Slides, No Slides-Plenty of Floorplan Choices

  • The Jay Flight SLX 8 floorplans range in length from 25 and a half feet to a little over 36 feet. They vary in dry (unloaded) weight from around 4,200 pounds to a tick over 7,600 pounds.
  • There are 15 floorplans in total. Of those floorplans, a full two-thirds of them are bunkhouses. Let’s explore those first.
  • The first bunkhouse model is the 224BH. A classic bunkhouse, it has a queen size bed in the front with a privacy curtain and double-over-double bunks in the rear on the camp side. Adding the convertible dinette, you can sleep up to seven. Along with its straight-line kitchen across form the dinette, the 224BH also comes with an outside kitchen.
  • The 242BHS is next. The 242BHS has a layout very similar to the 224BH with a few key differences. The main bedroom has two entrances from the living area with dual privacy curtains. Added to the living room is an entertainment center separating the main bedroom, plus an off-camp side slide housing the large convertible U-Dinette. The kitchen has a wide countertop with angled double bowl sink, and the 242BHS also has an outside kitchen.
  • Next up for the bunk models is the unique 244BHS. The 244BHS also has a single slide, but it is larger, housing both the convertible dinette and the queen bed. The main bedroom is in the back, and with the bed pulled out on a slide, this room is large. Plus, the 244BHS has two entrances: up front where the twin bunks sit, and in the rear as a private entrance to the bedroom. Embedded in the twin bunk area is a bike storage area located opposite camp-side.
  • The 264BH is a classic non-slide bunkhouse layout made large to include a jackknife sofa. With its double-over-double bunks in the rear camp-side, queen bed and convertible dinette, the 264BH can sleep up to eight. A curtain provides privacy for the main bedroom. The stream-line kitchen is set opposite camp-side.
  • The 267BHS, number five in the Jay Flight SLX 8 bunkhouse line-up, is similar to the 242BHS only the living room slide is larger to accommodate a standard jackknife sofa (hide-a-bed optional) and convertible dinette. The rest of the layout is identical to the 242BHS but without an outside kitchen.
  • At first glance, the 284BHS is very similar to the 267BHS. However, the 284BHS’s slide has the sofa and dinette flip-flopped and the dinette a larger U-Dinette. A hide-a-bed is an option. The entertainment center has been moved to sit alongside the kitchen on the camp-side wall, a bench has been added against the wall separating the living room from the bedroom, and the 284BHS has an outside kitchen.
  • Take the 284BHS, shake things up a little, and you have the 287BHS. The 287BHS has the same size slide, only the U-Dinette is flip-flopped with the jackknife sofa (and yes, there is a hide-a-bed option). The entertainment center has been placed on the wall separating the living room from the bedroom. In the back, the bath and double-over-double bunks have been switched so the bath is now on the camp-side. This enables the 287BHS to have a second entrance directly into the bathroom.
  • The first of the final three Jay Flight SLX 8 bunkhouse models is the 294QBS. With its quad twin bunks in the back, jackknife sofa and U-Dinette on a slide, and queen bed, the 294QBS can sleep up to nine. Opt for the hide-a-bed and you are able to sleep up to ten. This bunkhouse also has a large entertainment center and bench/storage on a wall separating the living room from the bedroom plus an outside kitchen.
  • If you are a fan of a longer bunkhouse travel trailer without any slides, the 298BH is the one for you. The 298BH, 32 feet in length, has double-over-double bunks on the camp-side, a convertible dinette, jackknife sofa and queen bed to accommodate eight snoozers. Unlike most bunkhouse layouts, the 298BH’s straight-line kitchen is opposite camp-side. The 298BH also manages to put in an outside kitchen.
  • The final bunkhouse model is the 324BDS. This model is similar to the 294QBS with a few key differences. First, the 324BDS is the only Jay Flight SLX 8 with two slides – the common large living room slide with U-Dinette and jackknife sofa plus an additional slide housing a twin bunk and J-cube futon sofa. The bunk area differs in its use of the J-cube sofa plus an entertainment center so part of your family can enjoy something entirely different than what you have on the main entertainment center located on the wall separating the living room from the bedroom. The 324BDS has two entrances, one directly into the camp-side bathroom.
  • On the Jay Flight SLX 8 non-bunk model side, the first of five is the 212QB. This is a classic rear dinette floorplan with a queen bed at the front and dinette with jackknife sofa in the back. The kitchen area is split with the sink and microwave on the camp-side and refrigerator and pantry opposite.
  • The sole true rear bath floorplan in the Jay Flight SLX 8 line is the 232RB. Ideal for couples, the 232RB, has a large rear bath section with a very spacious wardrobe closet. An open floor layout, the 232RB has a camper queen bed in front with a jackknife sofa abutting the bedroom. The camp-side convertible dinette makes it so the 232RB can sleep up to four.
  • Next up is the sole true rear kitchen floorplan, the 235RKS. Designed for the camping couple in mind, this floorplan has a large kitchen area located on its back wall with an expansive countertop. The refrigerator and pantry pull out on a slide that also includes a fireplace and lift-up TV. Across from the lift-up TV sits two theatre seats camp-side. The bathroom is generous in space as is the bedroom. There are two entrances, one a private entrance into the bedroom.
  • The final two Jay Flight SLX 8 floorplans are rear living layouts. The 245RLS and 265RLS are similar in scope, but have a few differences. The 245RLS has a large sofa on its back wall to create an ‘L’ with the straight-line camp-side kitchen. On the 245RLS slide sits a convertible dinette. The 265RLS expands the slide to accommodate a jackknife sofa (hide-a-bed optional) and places a pair of swivel rockers on its back wall. As with the 235RKS, the 265RLS also has two entrances with one going directly into the bedroom.
